Akshaya Tritiya is Vaishakha Shukla Tritiya. In 2027 it falls in late April or early May, depending on which sunrise still holds tritiya. Akshaya means unending. Shops hear “buy.” The tithi means a gift, a japa, or a start you will still be keeping in June.
Guru turns direct in Karka around mid-April 2027. Tritiya can land just after that station. Begin the practice. If the only reason for a gold booking is the poster, and the booking cannot come back, give it a week. Parashara’s chapter on Graha Shanti already says to give according to capacity.
A start is not a full muhurat
Opening a book of accounts, buying a small utensil, beginning a text: those match the day. A flat sold as an “Akshaya rate” is a contract. Check the arithmetic, and if it is a house, check a real muhurat rather than the tithi alone.
The five checks are in what a muhurat actually is.
Questions people keep asking
Must gold be bought on Akshaya Tritiya?
No. A small lasting gift fits. A forced purchase does not.
Why does the date move?
Because it is a lunar day, read at sunrise. It is not pinned to a civil holiday.
