Jupiter Enters Leo on 31 October 2026
Jupiter leaves exalted Cancer for Leo on 31 October 2026, in Magha, near Ketu. The stay is short: it turns retrograde on 13 December.

Guru enters sidereal Simha on Saturday 31 October 2026, around 12:50 p.m. IST, in Magha nakshatra. It leaves Karka, where it has been uchcha since 2 June 2026. Guru’s neecha is Makara. Simha is Surya’s rashi, and Surya and Guru are friends, so Guru is walking into a friend’s house with its exaltation behind it. Ketu is already in that house.
The stay is short on the way in. Jupiter stations retrograde in early Leo on 13 December 2026 and re-enters Cancer on 25 January 2027. Anyone planning a year-long “Jupiter in Leo” story from 31 October is planning a season that lasts about six weeks before the planet turns around. What leaving exaltation actually changes
From 2 June until 31 October, Jupiter in Cancer has been the cleanest expression of Guru available in a twelve-year cycle: own natural themes of teacher, child, dhara, counsel, and growth, delivered from the sign of its highest dignity. Charts that needed a family decision, a conception, a guru, or a legal settlement had a benefic in strength sitting on that part of the sky. After 31 October that strength drops a grade. It does not reverse into damage.
Magha is the first nakshatra of Leo, ruled by Ketu, associated with the ancestors, the throne, and the people who expect you to carry a name. Jupiter entering Magha while Ketu occupies Leo puts wisdom next to detachment from status. A promotion can arrive and feel strangely flat. A title can be offered and then revised once Jupiter is retrograde. That is the texture of this ingress, more than a list of lucky rashis.
There is also a knot at the door. The Cancer–Leo junction is one of the three gandanta points, the last portion of a water sign and the first portion of the fire sign that follows. Jupiter crosses it on 31 October, stations a few degrees into Leo, and backs up across the same knot in January. Treat the weeks on either side of the ingress as a poor window for a one-way family decision. A conversation is fine. A signature that assumes the next twelve months are settled is not.

Read down the third column and circle the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th. That is Karka Chandra (2nd), Mesha Chandra (5th), Kumbha Chandra (7th), Dhanu Chandra (9th), and Tula Chandra (11th). Those five Moon signs move into a classically supportive Guru gochar house on 31 October. They also meet Ketu in that house, so the support comes with a thread of withdrawal: a child who wants distance, a partner who needs a plainer wedding, a gain that arrives without applause.
The Moons leaving a supportive house are the ones to brief honestly. Gemini leaves the 2nd for the 3rd. Pisces leaves the 5th for the 6th. Capricorn leaves the 7th for the 8th. Simha Chandra is the case people over-read. Guru has been in the 12th from a Simha Moon all summer, and on 31 October it steps onto the Moon itself. A graha on the natal Moon colours the mind. Uchcha Guru on the way out, then Guru with Ketu on that Chandra rashi, can feel like a rise in confidence that does not quite trust itself. What I would not do on 31 October
I would not book a muhurat whose only virtue is “Jupiter is changing signs.” A sign change is a weather front. A muhurat needs the tithi, the nakshatra, and the chart of the person who has to live with the result. I would not buy a yellow sapphire because a reel said exaltation is ending. Gemstones are a prescription, and a wrong one is a year of wearing someone else’s medicine. I would finish a family conversation that has been waiting since June, while Jupiter is still in Cancer, if the conversation is already mature. Starting a brand-new one on the afternoon of the 31st, in Magha, with Ketu in the sign, is how you get a speech and no decision.
